After getting settled into our new home, I started to search around for things reasonably close by to do. Both boys have always loved dinosaurs, and we’re blessed enough to have a State Park near us which has actual dinosaur footprints which you can see and touch!
This is a really neat State Park which the boys and I camped in with our hammocks. The dinosaur footprints are real – they are the tracks of one herd of herbivores and one pack of carnivores which were hunting them. They followed the riverbed and while you can see the outlines of the prints in my pictures, they are much clearer when the river is flowing faster and washing the sediment out of them. New prints are exposed on occasion during the rainy season, so you can see new prints from time to time. They also have an interactive map which allows you to follow in the footsteps of the dinos as they moved about their lives millions of years ago. So much history here!
