On our way to our big family trip, we stopped at a Harvest Host location – the Stafford Air & Space Museum. This was a pretty neat place, and not just because they let us stay in their parking lot overnight 🙂
The boys have always been interested in space and planes (okay…. me too!) so any opportunity to visit somewhere which has either is pretty high up on our list of things to do. And the Stafford Air & Space Museum delivered! Named after Lt. General Thomas P. Stafford, who was not only a test pilot but an astronaut as well.
Plenty of exhibits to see and things to learn – like Oklahoma has had an astronaut in every phase of the space program, to seeing an actual Apollo Mission Control Console. It’s definitely a place to spend a half day or more depending on how much you want to read.
